Melissa + Dylan
Much like them, Melissa and Dylan's wedding was beautifully simple, stylish and intimate.
Right from their initial enquiry, they had established the cool but relaxed vibe their day was going to take; “We're big foodies, (and I'm an art nerd) so Opera Kitchen seemed like the perfect fit. I'm not too sure about the finer details of the day, but the vibe will be laid back and cool. We just want people to have good food, and a good time.”
They hosted the most wonderfully laid back wedding in their favourite Hawkes bay cafe, Opera Kitchen, followed by a reception next door (literally - we walked through a single door) in the Parlour Project’s art gallery.
They were lucky enough to have amazing friends and family travel from near and far, to help them throw a great wedding; including Melissa’s family who flew from Canada and delivered some of the sweetest, heartfelt speeches. The day felt intimate and relaxed; the celebrant was a close friend and Melissa’s brother designed all the stationary. The food was incredible (fried chicken along side restaurant quality noms - yum), and the art gallery was a blank modern space which they decorated with a huge hanging flower installation.
If like Melissa and Dylan you too love, art, design and good food; then scroll to see some of our favourite moments from their super chill, urban wedding.
